What you need to know about the 2018 Tax Bill

Updated: Sep 19, 2018

18 September 2018 - House 804 - We have come to the point in Boshka history where there is a need for taxation. What does this mean? When Bill C-158 passes in the House of Commons, your income, goods and services will be taxable. Either by the federal government or your local province government. This Tax Bill was designed to keep more of your hard earned dollars in your pocket. Where is the money collected from taxes going? It will help pay for infrastructure, the basic physical and organizational structures and facilities (e.g., buildings, roads, and power supplies) needed for the operation of the country and your province. How much will I have to pay? What makes this Tax Bill so unique, is the fact that it's a flat rate tax. Don't worry. If you make less than $4,000 a month, you don't have to pay taxes. It's time for real change for our citizens that fall below the poverty line.

Everyone will have two options to pay. Either pay small amounts out of each pay check and pay nothing at the end of the year or see more in your "bring home" pay and pay it all in one lump sum at the end of the year. To read more about Bill C-158, click here.
