6 May 2019 - Brunei - The Commonwealth of Boshka Department of State sent special delegation to meet with heads of state of Brunei last month to discuss the recently passed law discriminating against members of the LGBTQ community. Under the direct orders of President Bannister, Acting Secretary of State sent Deputy Secretary of State Róbert Alexander Biskup to head the meeting between Boshka and Brunei. Secretary Biskup delivered a direct and to the point message to Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah,
"The Commonwealth of Boshka will not tolerate such a law that discriminates against a certain group of people. Either change this law or face more consequences from the rest of the world. At this point, you are out of options." - Deputy Secretary of State Róbert Alexander Biskup
Yesterday, in a rare response in English, on Sunday said,
"I am aware that there are many questions and misperceptions with regards to the implementation of the [new law].
However, we believe that once these have been cleared, the merit of the law will be evident.
As evident for more than two decades, we have practiced a de facto moratorium on the execution of death penalty for cases under the common law.
This will also be applied to cases under the [new law] which provides a wider scope for remission."
The Commonwealth of Boshka will fight for LGBTQ rights no matter were in the world. We stand by our motto: All are Equal.
